Is English a Sadistic Language?

Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia is a fear of long words,

Borrowing from other languages, is all English affords;

From ‘anonymous’ in Greek,

To describing the ‘meek’;

Not, naught and knot

Aren’t enough to define the drought;

Misery loves company anywhere,

It’s schadenfraude everywhere!

Yet we yearn to be English-speaking,

Look down upon non-speakers, critiquing;

Heights of colonialism, you say?

A trap of universal unification, if I may!
